QUESTION:
Hello,
Does the USDA only lend on homes that are owned by USDA? Or can I purchase any home? I’m looking for my first home in the Lakeland area, your response would be greatly appreciate.
B.Williams, Lakeland, FL
ANSWER:
Thank you for your question Mr. Williams. The answer is any home, as long as it located in a eligible USDA area. The home can be a short sale, foreclosures, bank owned, etc. There are many area’s inside Polk county and around Lakeland area that are eligible for the USDA home loan program.
